[email protected]1. Overview
Calcy – Food Cost Calculator is a professional tool designed for restaurant owners and food & beverage professionals. Unlike our other apps, Calcy requires an account to store and sync your data across devices. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we store it, and your rights regarding that data.
We keep data collection to the minimum necessary to provide the service.
2. Data We Collect
When you use Calcy, we collect the following:
Account data (via Sign in with Apple)
When you create an account, you authenticate through Sign in with Apple. Depending on your Apple settings, we may receive:
A unique user identifier issued by Apple
Your name (only if you choose to share it on first sign-in)
An email address — either your real address or an Apple-generated private relay address, depending on your preference
We do not have access to your Apple ID password at any time. Authentication is handled entirely by Apple.
App content data
The ingredients, recipes, cost data, and any other content you create within the app are stored on our servers, linked to your account. This is necessary to provide the core functionality of the app.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your data solely to provide and maintain the Calcy service:
To create and manage your account
To store and retrieve your ingredients and recipes
To enable the cost calculation features of the app
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on our own servers. We do not use third-party cloud database providers. We implement reasonable technical measures to protect your data from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.
As a best practice, we also recommend keeping your device protected with a passcode or biometric authentication.
5. Third-Party Services
Sign in with Apple
Account authentication is handled by Apple. Apple's handling of authentication data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not receive or store your Apple ID credentials.
Apple App Store Analytics
Apple may collect aggregate, anonymised usage data — such as the number of downloads, sessions, and crashes — through its standard App Store platform. This data is collected by Apple, not by us, and is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not have access to any individually identifiable data through this mechanism.
We do not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking services. We do not use Google Analytics, Firebase, Crashlytics, Facebook SDK, or any similar tools.
6. Your Rights
We are committed to respecting your rights under applicable privacy laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK).
You have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you
Correct any inaccurate data
Delete your account and all associated data
Object to or restrict processing of your data
To exercise any of these rights, including account and data deletion, please contact us at
[email protected]. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
7. Data Retention
We retain your account and app data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion of your account, we will permanently delete your data from our servers. Note that some residual data may remain in backups for a limited period before being fully purged.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make any meaningful changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
